You will find our church very loving and kind.
Our church truly loves God and loves people (Matt 22:36-40)! We preach and teach the Bible unashamedly and all our praise and worship is directed to God alone. We are a “grace-life church!” We know we are nothing without the grace of God in both salvation from our sins (John 3:16) and in our discipleship (2 Tim. 2:15). Thus, our highest aim is to live the “exchanged life” (Gal. 2:20)! This is Christ living in us, as us, by the Holy Spirit’s power, being pleasing to God! Naturally flowing from this aim, our mission is to exalt God, equip the saints, and evangelize the lost. God’s Word communicates His authority over our lives. The biblical essentials of our faith are eternal, transcending culture- we must be faithful! Cultural expressions of our faith are geographical and generational- we must be flexible! Jesus is Lord! The mission presented by the Lord Jesus is unchanging! Early in His ministry He extended this invitation to His disciples, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19). The Lord Jesus concludes His ministry with the Great Commission, “Go and make disciples of all nations . . .” We seek to follow Jesus’ model of ministry and His mission priorities for us. The disciples’ personal walk with Christ transformed their lives and equipped them to proclaim the Gospel. The Lord’s command to evangelize begins with the circles of influence in our daily lives and reaches to the ends of the earth. “Go into all the world and proclaim the Gospel…” (Mark 16:15). “Repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations beginning in Jerusalem…” (Luke 24:47). “You will be my witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8). Notice that this calling is both/and, not either/or. Thus, we support both home and foreign evangelism/missions (SBC Cooperative Program).
We would love to meet you and you are welcome here anytime!
God bless,
Brother Steve Tompkins
